The ULTIMATE TEST

2 Apr

 THIS WEEKEND’S WEATHER FORECAST!!!:http://www.weather.com/weather/weekend/30506

Troops… This year’s Spring Camporee will be the ULTIMATE TEST to see who takes home our District’s prized totem, Eddie the Otter. Troop 207, chartered to Creekside United Methodist Church, hopes to defend their title from this past fall when they took the prize with their very best Catapult… but they will, along with their fellow troops, have to put their field skills, as well as their Scouting Skills and creativity, front and center in order to win this year’s Spring version of the challenge. So Scoutmasters/SPL’s, let’s get started!

Ultimate Frisbee is an old sport who’s time has finally emerged. Over the past decade, the sport of Ultimate has become increasingly more popular with High Schools and Colleges starting their own club teams and competitions going on all over the Country. For Troops whose Scouts have never played, take a look at this link first: http://bit.ly/g40WJ9

For some strategy tips, take a look here: http://bit.ly/ibYv34

The Ultimate Camporee centers around an EPIC Ultimate Tournament, but there will be 9 other events going on at the same time… These events will include Scouting Skills that involve the creative use of your own disc! Pioneering, fire starting, orienteering, and others… a link to the packet is below.

To register for the ULTIMATE CAMPOREE and the chance to take home Eddie the Otter, register online today by TROOP

For more information and to download the packet head over to the Etowah Website and the Boy Scout Activities Page

Also… we need EVENT SPONSORS. If your troop has older boys or adults who would like to sponsor one or more events, please notify Daniel or Andrew Johnson (event SPL)

OK… see you out there!
