Lanierland Comes Alive With Camporee Spirit

19 Oct

Greetings Scouts!

The FALL CAMPOREE is just around the corner, coming up this Friday, October 21 at Lanierland music park on Jot-em-down road in North Forsyth County. This is your chance to compete against the Troops from the District in several events called “Orienting Scouts to the Future”. With over a dozen events in Scout Skills, knowledge, physical fitness, and teamwork, your Troop will compete for the top prize, our totem, Eddie the Otter.

Last Fall Troop 207 began their year of dominance by taking home Eddie for the first time. This past Spring, they successfully defended their title and held on to Eddie the Otter. This is only the second time a Troop has successfully repeated Camporee victory (Troop 109 Spring 08-Fall08). No Troop has ever accomplished the elusive “Three-peat”. Will history be made? Will another Troop wrest the big Otter from 207? Will you be there?

Sign up to attend with your Troop. Webelos can attend for the day with a host Troop by signing up with your den/Pack.

Lanierland is an historic music park which closed its gates in late 2006 after nearly 40 years of live country music hosting acts like Randy Travis, the Oak Ridge Boys, Alabama, and Kenny Rogers.

see you out there!
