Farming for Fuels

7 Mar

Greetings from Tellus Science Museum –
Tellus’ last Scout program for the school year is coming up next month. This program will be available to both Boy Scouts and Junior Girls.
On April 16th, Tellus will offer Farming for Fuels with requirements toward the Boy Scouts’ Energy Merit badge and the Junior Girls’ “Get Moving” program.
Farming for Fuels focuses on the purpose and value of biofuels to replace our current demand on fossil fuels. What are Biofuels? Where do Biofuels originate? These ideas and more are explored in this exciting lesson about energy needs for transportation and why we should move away from using fossil fuels. Connect with the environment as you explore the need for a fuel change in the future. This would be a great program to tie in with Earth Day on Friday, April 22nd.
For more information on the program and to learn what requirements it fulfills for your particular program, please visit http://www.tellusmuseum.org and hover over the “Education” tab to go to the “Scout Programs” page.
Registration for this program closes Friday, April 1st. Registration is required and payment must be made when you register. To register for this program, please call 770-606-5699.
Please pass this information along to any leader who may be interested. We look forward to seeing you at Tellus in April!
