Advance-A-Rama – Forward this link to your Scouts: http://bit.ly/nrecOH

Saturday October 15 at Church of the Good Shepherd on Holtzclaw Rd in Cumming

We’ve had some demand to offer Personal Management at the AAR so that boys whose troops don’t have a counselor can meet with one and get started. You won’t earn the whole badge in one day, but getting started on this one is half the battle, right!? Be sure to share the sign-up info with your Scouts this week at your meeting. These are the badges offered (ALL Eagle required except Computers):

  • Cit. in the Nation
  • Cit. in the World
  • Communications
  • First Aid
  • Personal Mgmt
  • Computers

Lunch tickets can be purchased on site for $6. This will most likely be Backyard Burgers and I’d like to get a head count prior to the event. If you know your troop members will be purchasing lunch tickets, try to let me know this week a ball-park. $10 if you are registered before October 1. Courses will fill up… sign up today.

Fall Camporee – Follow this link to register your troop: http://bit.ly/qsQs3J

October 21-23 at Lanierland on Jot-em-down Rd in North Forsyth.  $7 per person.

Eddie the Otter is “Orienting Scouts for the Future” in this year’s Fall Camporee, which is sure to be a BLAST! Repeat champs at Troop 207 are looking to make it THREE (the RECORD is three held by Troop 109 Fall 2007-Fall 2008).  Come out and show your skills in this classic competition of Scout Skills and fun. Troop 3740 is hosting this year’s event, but they need your help to staff the events. Your Scoutmaster has the events packet. Let us know which event your troop would like to staff with older Scouts or adults by emailing me or one of the camporee chiefs, Todd or Michael.

Troop Tips:

  1. Share this info at your next TROOP MEETING!
  2. You’ll need 4 “pie-sized” pumpkins to bring to the camporee
  3. If possible, bring your own hand-held GPS for each patrol entering. You’ll need one that you are comfortable working with

Your Scoutmaster has the events packet, so check with him. Come to Roundtable to find out more info before the camporee and stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to time!

<<—Troops and POPCORN—>>>

POPCORN!Remember… the goal is to get EVERY boy to sell popcorn, to reach his goal, and to help fund his own year. Keep encouraging your Scouts. Let us know some feedback from your Scouts that are selling well and that have some tips for other Boy Scouts to use. Leave your comments here.

See you out there!
